Chief Financial Officer
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
SUPERVISES: Accounting Manager, Finance Team
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Starting Wage: $ 121,600 per year, adjusted for experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide skilled financial leadership and direction to enable ROI to meet all financial and budgetary needs. Direct accounting functions, financial planning, financial analysis and budgeting activities. Responsible for the annual audit and financial information provided to the ROI Board of Directors and pertinent accounting firms and regulatory bodies. Ensure that ROI’s information system operations are effective and efficient. Implement responsibilities and other actions in accordance with ROI’s Core Values and Vision and Mission Statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Develop an annual budget in collaboration with staff leadership.
2. Participate in the development and implementation of ROI’s Strategic Plan.
3. Embrace and support ROI’s philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness and anti-racism and work to ensure ROI’s commitment to being an anti-racist organization.
4. Develop and implement long and short range financial strategies and plans to maximize ROI’s ability to successfully serve individuals, while ensuring ROI’s financial viability.
5. Develop and grow the Finance Team staff’s capabilities to facilitate agency growth and financial stability. This includes financial management and oversight of accounting policies and procedures for appropriate GAAP compliance and U.S. government regulations.
6. Provide the CEO, the Board of Directors, the Finance Committee, and other relevant ROI staff members with financial information and processes to allow them to make good decisions about new and existing business opportunities in a timely fashion.
7. Develop processes and financial systems that facilitate a consistent flow of accurate and timely information concerning ROI cash, revenue, expenses, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that allow proactive financial decisions to be determined.
8. Oversee the entire operations of the Finance Team, Contract Management staff, and Representative Payee program.
9. Maintain the confidentiality of all restricted information, data and reports.
10. Prepare any necessary financial reports, applications, audits, or other documentation, and complete all other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer, the ROI Board of Directors, or the Finance Committee, or as otherwise necessary to ensure the efficient financial operations of ROI.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree preferred), CMA or CPA preferred, AND a minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, finance and supervision; OR equivalent experience and qualifications as approved by the Chief Executive Officer. Experience managing a budget of at least $10,000,000 and experience managing staff. Excellent communications, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated necessary computer skills in Excel and other necessary financial software. Must be bondable. Ability to attend (including providing own transportation) work-related obligations throughout the community.
