Electronic Database Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Properties
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Starting Wage: $67,375, adjusted based on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s cloud-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system; and other special projects as assigned in accordance with overall program goals, agency policy and procedure, and all applicable state, federal and local laws and regulations. Responsible for system administration, data management, training & support, integration, and security. Implement responsibilities and other actions in accordance with ROI’s Core Values and Vision and Mission Statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Manages user accounts, configures the system to meet the organization’s specific needs including data collection and workflow processes.
2. Embraces and supports ROI’s philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness and anti-racism and works to ensure ROI’s commitment to being an anti-racist organization.
3. Develops and implements data migration strategies, ensures data integrity, accuracy, and security; analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
4. Develops and maintains user manuals and training materials; provides training and support to providers and staff.
5. Integrates the system with other healthcare IT systems.
6. Monitors database performance and impact, recommends changes, and implements updates such as rates & units.
7. Assists with internal and external audits providing data generated in the areas of service data, billing and credentialing.
8. Coordinate with IT Manager to ensure adequate equipment is available and identifies solutions to facilitate EMR usage with the IT Manager.
9. Ensures compliance and security with HIPAA regulations and implements security measures to protect
patient/consumer data.
10. Designs and maintains agency software dashboards and data reports.
11. Completes all other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science, Health Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field. Will consider an associates degree, related certifications, and/or experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree. Understanding Microsoft SQL is required. Certification in EMR or Health Information Technology preferred; experience with SQL, HTML, jQuery and Javascript as well as knowledge in scripting languages preferred. Proven experience in EMR implementation and support with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical processes. An understanding of EMR/EHR
software such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech to have an understanding of data and table structure. Working with databases and an understanding of database management. Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of the Health or Human Services field preferred. Advanced knowledge of computer networks; personal computers and related peripherals; and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Ability to: troubleshoot and problem-solve; independently transport items up to 50 lbs; and attend work-related obligations throughout the community including providing own transportation.
